A woman with blonde hair in a bob cut, wearing a gray top with stitched detailing and a gold chain necklace, smiles at the camera. The background is softly blurred with natural light and brick visible.

Fleming Awarded PENS Multicenter Research Grant

Well done to Louise Fleming, who received a Pediatric Endocrinology Nursing Society (PENS) Multicenter Research Grant for her project “Development of an Adrenal Crisis Prevention Mobile Health Application — A Pilot Study.”

Dr. Fleming will serve as Principal Investigator, and will be joined on the two-year study by colleagues from the NIH and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, as well as Beth Skelton, a SON doctoral student, who will serve as a research assistant. They will be developing a mobile health application, with UNC’s Connected Health Applications and Interventions Core (CHAI), to help treat and prevent adrenal crisis for adults and children with adrenal insufficiency.

Way to go, Louise!
