Dr. Valerie Glassman, director of the School of Nursing Clinical Support Division, will be recognized twice in February 2022 at the annual conference of the Association for Student Conduct Administration (ASCA), the leading voice and professional association for student conduct in higher education.
Glassman has been awarded the 2022 Dissertation of the Year, which carries a cash prize, a plaque, and the opportunity to present research findings at the conference, held this year in Arlington, Virginia. She will also be honored with the D. Parker Young Award for “an individual’s outstanding scholarly contributions in the area of higher education law and/or student conduct/services. This award is intended to recognize an individual’s compendium of scholarly works throughout their career.” This is the first time an individual has been granted two awards by the association in a single year.
Glassman also received a professional development grant from the UNC Employee Forum to attend this conference. Glassman’s work was recognized as Dissertation of the Year by the Department of Educational Leadership in East Carolina University’s College of Education in September 2021. She earned her Doctor of Education from that department in May 2021.
