Hillman Scholar Charity Lackey Selected to 2019 NIH G-SOAR Program

Hats off to Hillman Scholar Charity Lackey, who has been selected to participate in the 2019 Graduate Summer Opportunity to Advance Research (G-SOAR) Program at the National Institutes of Health. The program will begin June 3rd and will continue through August 9th.

The goal of G-SOAR is to give participants the opportunity to work full-time in a state-of-the-art research environment learning modern research techniques. G-SOAR interns meet once a week on the Bethesda campus for a supplementary curriculum designed to develop tools and skills needed to succeed both in research and study. Topics will include improving scientific presentation skills, professional writing, and career readiness as well time management and how to network effectively.

At the end of the summer, all G-SOAR participants will present their research at the 2019 Summer Poster Day.
