Nursing undergraduate Gillian Litynski was featured in the University Gazette article ‘Take the hit and recover later.’ Litynski is the first-ever ACC women’s saber champion, and is in the Hillman Scholar for Nursing Innovation Program in the School of Nursing.
The story discusses how Litynski discovered fencing, and how she has learned to deal with dyslexia since discovering she had the learning disorder in the third grade. When difficulties arise, Litynski says that she takes the hit and recovers later.
As a Hillman Scholar, she is pursuing research interests in the health care work force, how accessible health care workers are in various parts of the world, and health inequalities between the rich and poor.
