Jacobson Vann: Cochrane Collaboration Protocol – Interventions to improve vaccination uptake among adults

Dr. Julie Jacobson Vann is serving as a co-investigator with a team of scientists at Cochrane Centre, South Africa and the South African Medical Research Council. Their systematic review protocol, Interventions to improve vaccination uptake among adults (Protocol), was just published in the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews on November 17, 2021.

This project is being led by Dr. Duduzile Ndwandwe, a Senior Scientist at the Cochrane Centre, South Africa and the South African Medical Research Council. The aim of this study is to assess the effects of interventions aimed at increasing vaccination uptake among adults. The team will assess interventions aimed at improving uptake of routine vaccines, including vaccines for special conditions or special indications, among adults. Eligible interventions will include those that target recipients of vaccination, providers of vaccination services, and health systems, including policy changes. More than 25 distinct intervention types will be studied.
