Jinbing Bai appeared this week in Global Heels, a series produced by UNC Global. Mr. Bai is a doctoral student in nursing who came from China to study at the School of Nursing.
In the interview, Mr. Bai talked about how he chose to study at the SON because of the School’s reputation for high-quality research. “UNC-Chapel Hill has one of the premier nursing schools in the States and has very talented and insightful professors in nursing research,” he said. “I really appreciate the opportunity I have to work with and learn from them. “
Mr. Bai is currently pursuing research related to children’s pain and symptom management as well as parental behaviors during painful treatments and procedures. His academic advisor is Beerstecher-Blackwell Distinguished Scholar Sheila Santacroce, PhD, RN, APRN, CPNP. “She provides many resources to help me with my studies and research,” said Mr. Bai. “For example, she introduced different professors and people to me so that I could become involved in different groups or organizations to train me as a future nursing researcher. She has also helped me adapt to life here by giving me recommendations about holidays and culture.”
