Kudos to Rebecca Kitzmiller, who submitted the winning proposal for the inaugural Bill and Mary Lou Booth Community Service and Outreach Award.
The project which will be lead by DNP Student, Nickolai Detert, is entitled “Improving Care to Veterans Treated in Civilian Ambulatory Care Settings” and is a pilot aimed at evaluating the feasibility of a veteran identification, PTSD assessment, and mental health referral process in ambulatory care settings.
The Bill and Mary Lou Booth Community Service and Outreach Fund was established by the Booths in the UNC School of Nursing Foundation in 2016 with the aim of aiding students and faculty who wish to engage in community service for the betterment of the health and welfare of North Carolinians. The award proposal process was administered by Tom Bush, Assistant Dean for Practice, and selected by committee.
Congratulations Becky and Nickolai!
