Dr. Linda Cronenwett, Former Dean and Beerstecher Blackwell Term Professor received The Jessie M. Scott Award. This award was established by American Nurses Association (ANA) in 1979 to honor Jessie M. Scott, former assistant surgeon general and director of the Division of Nursing, Health Resources Administration, Public Health Service, of the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare.

The award is made by the ANA Board of Directors and is presented to a registered nurse whose accomplishments in practice, education, or research demonstrate the interdependence of these elements and their significance for the improvement of nursing and health care. Dr. Cronnenwett received this award in recognition of her highly productive career and the leadership she has and continues to provide in nursing practice, teaching, and scholarship. The award will be given during the ANA House of Delegates meeting June 15-16 at National Harbor, MD.
