McAdoo named new assistant dean for Student Affairs for the SON

UNC School of Nursing has announced the appointment of Kacy McAdoo as the new assistant dean for the Office of Student Affairs. With over 23 years of extensive experience and leadership capabilities, McAdoo will play a pivotal role in optimizing the support and services offered to students.

As the assistant dean, McAdoo will oversee a wide range of initiatives aimed at fostering a positive and enriching environment for the students at the UNC School of Nursing. Student affairs play a crucial role in shaping the overall experience of students during their academic journey. From orientation programs to career guidance, student affairs professionals provide resources, programs, and initiatives that contribute to the academic success, personal growth, and overall well-being of students.

Kacy McAdoo

Kacy has previously demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication as the director of admissions and recruitment at Carolina Nursing. She has completed graduate work in Higher Education Administration and Management Development at UNC Greensboro and earned her bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations, and Marketing from Western Carolina University. She has also worked at UNC Greensboro, Clarkson College in Omaha, NE, and Wake Tech as the Associate Dean of Admissions and Outreach.

Under McAdoo’s leadership, the Office of Student Affairs will continue to evolve and adapt to meet the changing needs of students. By prioritizing student-centeredness, inclusivity, and innovation, McAdoo aims to create a supportive and engaging environment that fosters student growth and success.
