The SON was not only well represented at the Friends of the National Institute of Nursing Research NightinGala on October 14 in Washington DC, but the work of one of our own—Dr. Jessica Zegre-Hemsey—was listed first among the Notable Advances listed in the evening’s program.
Interim Dean Donna Havens and Associate Dean for Research, Ruth Anderson, were joined by a number of SON faculty and UNC research practice partners from UNC Hospitals to celebrate advances in nursing science at the gala affair.
The study for which Dr. Zegre-Hemsey received note was titled “Synthesized Twelve-lead ST Monitoring And Real-time Tele-electrocardiography” or ST-SMART (NIH/NINR 5 R01 NR7881) was led by principal investigator Barbara J. Drew PhD, RN and was published in the American Journal of Cardiology in 2011.
