Construction on the new Nursing Education Building is progressing steadily, marking an exciting new chapter for Carolina Nursing. The building’s foundation was poured in early October, and the project remains on track to complete construction in early 2027. As work continues, the School is finalizing interior design and furniture selections that will bring the space to life — creating welcoming, flexible and state-of-the-art environments for learning, research and collaboration. Once complete, the new building will expand our capacity to educate future nurses and strengthen our impact across North Carolina and beyond.
Our new state-of-the-art Nursing Education Building will add 20,000 square feet, outfitted with the latest technology, collaborative spaces and advanced simulation labs. This expansion will allow us to increase enrollment by 50% — directly addressing the critical nursing shortage.
This milestone is possible thanks to the generosity and vision of our alumni, donors and partners. Your support ensures that Carolina Nursing remains at the forefront of innovation and excellence in nursing education. Naming opportunities are still available for those who wish to make a lasting mark on this transformative project and help shape the future of nursing at Carolina. Together, we are building a home worthy of our extraordinary students, faculty and community — and setting the foundation for the next 75 years of leadership, discovery and care.
Building the Future of Nursing
With partial funding from the state of North Carolina in hand, we now need private partners who understand the critical role a new facility will play in promoting the health and well-being of patients for years to come.
