Palmer a Visiting Scholar, Conference Keynote Speaker in Australia

Mary H. Palmer, PhD, RNC, FAAN, AGSF, Helen W. and Thomas L. Umphlet Distinguished Professor in Aging traveled to Australia in November to attend the Continence Foundation of Australia’s 24th National Conference in Melbourne, where she was a keynote speaker.

Dr. Palmer gave two presentations while at the conference, the first entitled “Review of past and present efforts to improve quality of life and care for older adults with UI with the emphasis on the future and our path forward” and the second entitled “Becoming wise: Listening to the needs of older adults.”

In addition to her participation in the conference, Dr. Palmer spent time as a visiting scholar at Flinders University in Adelaide, South Australia where she worked on a multicultural workforce development project, led by Flinders and in partnership with Australian residential care homes, Resthaven and Anglicare.
