Record Attendance at ANS TarHeal Explorations

The Association of Nursing Students hosted 250 boy and girl scouts at the annual TarHeal Explorations at the UNC School of Nursing on Saturday, February 10. At this event, scouts learned about the nursing profession by interacting with nursing students and completing activities such as obtaining vital signs and making first aid kits.

Scouts also used Glo Germ to learn proper hand hygiene and assessed Stan the Man(nequin), a continued favorite at the event. Some scouts brought posters to the event depicting their perspective of what it means to be a nurse.

This year had record high interest and attendance, and both volunteers and scouts had a great time spending a day shedding light on the nursing profession!
