Remembering Carol Morde Ross, BA ’64

The School of Nursing recently lost a great friend and patron in Carol Morde Ross, BA ’64, who passed away unexpectedly in late May.

A psychiatric nurse, Carol was deeply involved in the life of the School of Nursing and served on its Foundation Board of Directors for eight years, and supported SON faculty and students through clinical placements networking, advocacy and philanthropy. With her husband, Coleman, she established the Eunice Morde Doty Scholarship for undergraduate nursing students and the Carol Morde Ross Distinguished Professorship in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing. For all of these efforts and more, she was named an Honorary Alumna of the SON in 2018.
