Schuler presents at American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing

Statewide AHEC Nursing Liaison Mary Schuler presented an outline of UNC’s Primary Care RN Certificate at the 44th annual conference of the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing in Palm Springs, CA in May.

This certificate was initiated by an Innovations Grant from North Carolina’s AHEC for curriculum development, Carolina Nursing faculty wrote the program’s modules and the William and Ida Friday Center Carolina Office for Online Learning (COOL) offered in-kind support.

There have been 70 participants in the certificate program so far and the overall evaluations have been very positive. The certificate is being used to prepare preceptors for the UNCSON Invest in Nursing* program developed by Assistant Professor Megan Williams.
