
Shielda Rodgers, PhD, RN, has been named a 2025 Visionary Pioneer by the University of Maryland School of Nursing. Rodgers is one of five new honorees selected this year, joining a group of 30 previously recognized alumni who have contributed to the field of nursing through leadership, innovation, or entrepreneurship.
Rodgers has spent more than four decades working to advance equity, student success, and belonging in nursing education. At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing, she has led institutional initiatives focused on holistic admissions, cultural competence, and inclusive excellence.
Shielda will be recognized at the Visionary Pioneer Gala celebration on Sept. 18, 2025.
