SON Honors Veteran Students

To honor and thank our veteran and active-military students, the School of Nursing hosted its first Veterans Day Luncheon on November 10.

Students were greeted by Dr. Pamela Johnson Rowsey, the coordinator of the School’s new Military-Affiliated Students Initiative, and additional remarks were provided by Interim Dean Donna Havens and Assistant Dean for Advancement Anne Webb.

SON veteran alumni and donors, Jo Anne Trowbridge Martin, BSN ’69 and Angelo Moore, PhD ’10, joined the group, as well.

A brief keynote was given by Amber Mathwig, UNC-Chapel Hill’s new veteran students assistant coordinator, who offered information on resources available to military students on campus, as well as upcoming events and ways to engage with peers in other programs at the university.
