Fourteen BSN students in the Class of 2016, shared some lessons they learned from their clinical rotation in an article for allnurses.com.
The lessons were collected and made into an article by clinical instructor Elizabeth Stone. “This was my first semester as a clinical instructor for brand new nursing students during their first clinical rotation,” she wrote in the article. She expected she would have to keep her students focused on the positive, but “What I didn’t expect was the wisdom that these students would share at the end of their first semester of clinicals.”
The twenty-four lessons the students ranged from tips about communication (“Get to know your clinical group.”) to being prepared to mess up (“Admit what you don’t know or understand.”). To read the full list of lessons, visit allnurses.com.
