Congratulations to undergraduate nursing students Madd Heartley(left) and Caroline Roseman(right) who have been elected to serve on the 2022-2023 North Carolina Association of Nursing Students (NCANS) Executive Board as Secretary and Vice President, respectively.
Heartley, a senior, is passionate about reproductive and sexual health. She hopes to pursue a nursing career in reproductive health or obstetrics and gynecology after graduation. She also serves as the Treasurer for the UNC-Chapel Hill chapter Association of Nursing Students (ANS) and says this is another opportunity for teamwork.
“I’m looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish together.”
Roseman is a first year nursing student and serves as the Communication and Publications Chair for the UNC-Chapel Hill chapter Association of Nursing Students (ANS). Roseman, who aspires to work in the ICU after graduating from and to one day become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), is keen to take on a leadership role, saying, “I am looking forward to setting a positive example and making a difference as a leader this year.”
Carolina Nursing is proud to have our students representing students all over North Carolina. SON ANS Faculty Advisor Nancy Jo Thompson sums it up best: “We are thrilled to have Madd and Caroline represent Carolina Nursing at the state level. Both Madd and Caroline are exceptional student nurse leaders!”
About NCANS, from ncans.org:
Since 1958, the North Carolina Association of Nursing Students (NCANS) has served as the statewide professionalizing vehicle of North Carolina nursing students. Conceived as a student branch of the North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA), NCANS has historically worked with and continues currently to work with NCNA to aid nursing students in making the important transition from students to licensed nurses.
