A new year brings a new semester along with a new class of nursing students. Whether you have resolved to study more, learn new skills, or stretch yourself as a researcher, the School of Nursing has many events this month to help get your year off to a great start.

- From Ideas to Publication! The Process of Writing Journal Manuscripts and Books
This workshop examines the process of writing journal manuscripts beginning with your idea through the submission of your paper, responding to peer reviews, and publication of the manuscript. You will receive hands-on experience in selecting possible journals for submission of a manuscript. The workshop includes a discussion of writing different types of manuscripts, tips for writing, open access and predatory journals, other considerations relevant to publishing journal manuscripts, and steps in securing a publisher and writing a book. - 4th Annual Cardiovascular Update
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, The Friday Center
Are you using the most up-to-date guidelines in your cardiovascular nursing practice? The treatment of cardiovascular disease is continuously evolving, with advances in treatments, technology, and annual updates of AHA/ACC guidelines. Join us for a full and exciting day of learning at the 4th Annual Cardiovascular Update Conference on Friday, January 30, 2015. This one day conference promises to provide nurses and nurse practitioners with the latest evidence-based practices and treatments for heart and vascular disease, using patient scenarios and case studies to keep the focus clinical and engaging.
