Why did you choose nursing? I chose nursing because it lies at the intersection of my two passions: caregiving and science, and because I have so many opportunities to make a difference in someone’s life!
What does serving on the NCANS Board mean to you? I’m so excited to serve on the NCANS board because I’ve loved finding ways to support student nurses currently locally at UNC through ANS, and I’m even more excited to have the opportunity to also make contributions on a statewide scale this coming year.

Why did you choose nursing? From volunteering with my church, high school, and college, as well as in becoming a CNA, I fell in love with the one-on-one patient interaction that comes with nursing. With every patient that is cared for comes a new story. Listening to it can improve how they are treated in staggering ways. I also love the flexibility that comes with exploring different specialties in nursing, so that you can figure out where you fit best.
What does serving on the NCANS Board mean to you? For me, serving on the board means being to support students in bridging from nursing school to professional nurses in a way that promotes patient care and safety. Collaborating with others statewide will encourage shared ideas and new ways of learning. I am honored to serve as a representative of NCANS and engage in opportunities that optimize the future of nursing.

Carolina Nursing takes immense pride in the accomplishments of Caroline, Olivia and Rachel as they assume their roles on the NCANS board. Their election reflects not only their individual dedication and commitment but also the high standards of excellence upheld by the School. These outstanding students embody the core values of the nursing profession and inspire their peers with their passion and drive.
