Thirteen faculty members from the UNC School of Nursing have been accepted into three leadership development programs offered by the UNC Center for Faculty Excellence (CFE) for the 2024-2025 academic year. These programs, designed to support faculty leadership development at all stages of their careers, help faculty achieve their leadership goals through training, mentorship, and networking opportunities.
Leadership Fundamentals
This cohort-based program runs throughout the academic year, offering participants leadership assessments and training on key concepts, models, and skills. The program emphasizes small-group mentoring and coaching to help participants develop their leadership potential.

Faculty Orientation Administrator to Carolina
The FAOC program provides a comprehensive introduction to UNC’s administrative groups and services, strengthening participants’ support networks and orienting them to campus administrative systems. This program is designed to aid faculty in their leadership development across the university.

ADVANCE Leadership Journeys
This cohort-based program is geared toward mid-career faculty who want to enhance their leadership skills and advance to senior positions in research, teaching, or administration. Each session includes a Q&A with an academic leader sharing insights from their leadership journey, and participants may undertake leadership projects to further their development.

The UNC Center for Faculty Excellence works in collaboration with key campus partners to ensure its leadership development offerings meet the diverse needs of faculty across all stages of their careers.
