Today, U.S. News & World Report published its 2022 Best Colleges rankings, and Carolina Nursing is tied for fourth among all undergraduate nursing programs in the country.
This is the first year U.S. News has ranked schools with Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing degree programs. Included were more than 690 schools with accredited four-year and degree-completion programs that conferred at least 35 degrees in 2018-2019. These rankings were determined by assessing 17 academic quality indicators, including graduate and retention rates; social mobility; faculty resources; academic quality assessments by peer institution presidents, provosts and deans; financial resources; student excellence and alumni giving.
Additional 2022 Best Colleges rankings for UNC-Chapel Hill include:
- Ranked eighth overall for the Undergraduate Business Program
- Tied for ninth in entrepreneurship, reflecting growth of the UNC College of Arts & Sciences popular minor in the Shuford Program in Entrepreneurship and the courses and programs at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School.
- Tied for 10th place for Best Colleges for Veterans, up two rankings from 2021 – this ranking reflects Carolina’s continued commitment to military and military-affiliated students
- Tied with six other institutions for 28th overall for best national university among both public and private schools
While these rankings are only a small measure of our achievements, they serve as a reflection of our vision to be first in nursing, as well as a reminder that we accomplish great things when we set our hearts and minds to work.
