Megan Williams, EdD, MSN, RN, FNP, has been selected to join the 2024–2025 cohort of the ADVANCE Leadership Journeys program, hosted by the UNC Center for Faculty Excellence. This program is designed to foster the leadership development of mid-career faculty, providing them with opportunities to enhance their skills and advance into senior leadership, research, and teaching positions.
Williams, who currently serves as Division Chair for Acute Tertiary and Specialty Care Innovations, will join a multidisciplinary cohort of faculty members for a series of monthly workshops. These sessions focus on self-discovery, leadership development, and peer support, with participants engaging in self-reflection, interactive discussions, and small group activities. The program also features respected academic leaders from across the University, who share their leadership experiences and insights through interviews and live Q&A sessions.
As part of the ADVANCE Leadership Journeys experience, Williams and her cohort members will have the opportunity to plan and lead a leadership change project. This project will be informed by individual leadership values and is intended to benefit both the participant’s professional growth and the effectiveness of their respective departments.
Reflecting on her selection, Williams shared, “I’m excited about my new role as Division Chair within the School, and this new opportunity with the ADVANCE Leadership program comes at a great time! It’s a great chance to connect with colleagues at UNC-CH and keep learning and leading together.”
