Chongben Zhang obtained his doctoral degree from Peking University in the Department of Cell Biology. Dr. Zhang has significant research experience in cell signaling transduction in association with human diseases. Particularly, he is interested in the molecular mechanisms by which cells sense signals from nutrients, environmental chemicals or psychosocial factors to regulate metabolism, aiming for intervention strategies for human diseases.

At the Biobehavioral Laboratory (BBL), Dr. Zhang’s work duties include performing immunological and enzymatic detection assays in clinical biospecimens, assisting investigators with the design and implementation of strategies for biomarker discovery, and participating in research and educational activities of the BBL and SON.
