Jaimee Watts Isley, DNP, APRN

Jaimee serves as an Assistant Professor at UNC Chapel Hill School of Nursing. With over 10 years of experience as a registered nurse, including orthopedics, trauma, surgical ICU and cystic fibrosis care management as well as areas of public health nursing including TB control, outbreak investigation, refugee health care, immunization and communicable disease, she has been able to provide her students with real hands-on training in both the hospital and community settings. In the classroom setting, Jaimee instructs students in both the population health & public health nursing course content of the undergraduate nursing program at UNC. Dr. Watts Isley earned her graduate degree in adult gerontology from UNC Greensboro and her bachelors in nursing from MA College of Pharmacy in Boston where was born and raised. She also serves the public health nursing community as the chair elect for the nursing section of NCPHA and collaborates with public health leaders across the state to enhance the public health nursing workforce whenever possible. Her recent contributions include a blog style educational tool for local public health nurses to study for public health certification and a virtual student research showcase for first time student presenters to practice presenting and get expert feedback before they present at the annual APHA conference.
