Melody McCune, DNP, MSN, RN
Assistant Clinical Professor
Dr. McCune brings over 28 years of nursing experience, primarily in Community Health, which is truly her passion. Over the years, Dr. McCune has had the privilege of working in Pediatrics, Labor & Delivery, Newborn Nursery, NICU, Home Health, and Public Health.
Dr. McCune earned her BSN (2013), MSN in Nursing Administration (2016), and DNP (2018) — all from UNC Charlotte. Her DNP project focused on Implementing Practice Management in a Local Health Department, and her research interests continue to revolve around Public Health and Evidence-Based Practice.
For the past 7 years, Dr. McCune has enjoyed teaching at Winston-Salem State University, UNC Charlotte, and Grand Canyon University, across both undergraduate and graduate levels. She is also certified through ACUE’s Effective Online Teaching Practice Framework and recognized as a Certified Public Health Nurse in North Carolina. Dr. McCune is honored to be a member of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
