Scotty Switzer, MSN-Ed, RN, CNE, CCRN

Mr. Switzer obtained his BSN and MSN-Nursing Education from UNC-Wilmington. Mr. Switzer brings a strong foundation in nursing education and a deep passion for student learning. He joined the UNC School of Nursing a few years ago after several years of experience as a bedside nurse, where he cultivated his commitment to shaping the next generation of compassionate, Carolina nurses.
Mr. Switzer has extensive experience working with pre-licensure undergraduate nursing students, focusing on foundational clinical skills, simulation-based learning, and skill acquisition in the laboratory space. In May 2025, Mr. Switzer was honored with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurse Educators by the student cohort. He is currently pursuing his EdD in Organizational Leadership and Learning from UNC-Chapel Hill, with a research focus on competency-based clinical evaluation tools in undergraduate nursing education.
Mr. Switzer is deeply committed to advancing education equity and nursing excellence. His scholarship interests include clinical evaluation, simulation pedagogy, and the use of digital technology to transform nursing education.
