Stephanie Y. Fisher, DNP, MSN, RN, is a Clinical Assistant Professor and the ANCC Accredited Approver Provider Unit Director at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Nursing. She brings over 25 years of experience in nursing education, professional development, and public health. Prior to joining UNC, she served as a Regional Nurse Consultant for the North Carolina Division of Public Health, leading initiatives in child & maternal health, chronic disease prevention, and public policy.

Dr. Fisher’s areas of expertise include public health nursing, health equity, rural and population health, and civility in academic and clinical settings. She is an Apple Distinguished Educator and a certified mentor facilitator through the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER). Dr. Fisher also serves as the ANCC Accredited Approver Provider Director, leading nursing continuing professional development (NCPD) initiatives in alignment with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) standards.

She chairs the Education Committee for the Association of Community Health Nursing Educators (ACHNE), serves as a Section Councilor for the Public Health Nursing Section of the American Public Health Association (APHA), and was named a 2024 Fellow of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Diversity Leadership Institute as well as a DNPs of Color Manuscript Mentorship Scholar. Her work is grounded in advancing inclusive, evidence-based nursing education and improving health outcomes for underserved communities.
