Rebecca Hill, PhD, DNP, FNP-C, CNE, FAAN, senior associate dean for academic affairs at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing, has been elected to the American Academy of Nursing (AAN) Fellow Selection Committee.

The AAN is an honorific society and federally focused policy organization. Its members, known as Fellows, are selected through a rigorous nomination process and inducted for their extraordinary contributions to improving health locally and globally. Fellows earn the credential FAAN (Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing), recognizing their leadership and influence across health care, policy, and research.

As a member of the Fellow Selection Committee, Dr. Hill will help identify and evaluate nurse leaders for induction as Academy Fellows—one of the most prestigious honors in the profession. She will begin her service following the Academy’s annual Health Policy Conference, taking place October 16–18, 2025, in Washington, D.C.

Earlier this year, the Academy announced the selection of three UNC School of Nursing faculty members for its 2025 class of Academy Fellows in recognition of their substantial contributions to health and health care. They are Karen Sheffield-Abdullah, PhD, RN, FACNM; Lorinda A. Coombs, PhD, MSN, FNP-BC, AOCNP; and Audra Noble Rankin, DNP, APRN, CPNP, who will be inducted into the Academy.
