Assistant professor Lixin Song received a 2014-2015 Cancer Prevention Control (CPC) Intervention Research Pilot Proposal Grant Award to develop web-based symptom management intervention program for patients with newly diagnosed localized prostate cancer and their partners. The grants are awarded by CPC (formerly Health-e-NC) to support research on various ways to deliver interventions with a special focus on digital platforms.
Dr. Song’s research interests revolve around the sociocultural context of cancer care. She is interested in how cancer patients and their caregivers cope with stress and manage symptoms and related issues that impact cancer-health outcomes. She is also actively studying the links between health outcomes and cost of care in cancer survivors and their family caregivers.
The 2014-2015 award recipients were announced at the CPC Quarterly meeting.
