Suja Davis receives 2024 Tanner Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching

The University of North Carolina School of Nursing proudly announces that Clinical Associate Professor, Suja Davis, PhD, RN, has been honored with the 2024 Tanner Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching. This recognition highlights Davis’s dedication to cultivating a supportive and enriching learning environment for undergraduate students.

Selected by the University Teaching Awards Committee, Davis stood out for her exceptional contributions to undergraduate education at UNC Chapel Hill. With unwavering commitment and passion, Davis has consistently demonstrated the highest standards of teaching, earning praise from both students and faculty colleagues alike.

In recognition of her outstanding achievements, Davis will be presented with a citation and a prize of $7,500 during the upcoming Spring semester. Furthermore, she will be honored alongside other University Teaching Awards recipients at the University Teaching Awards Celebration, scheduled for April 22. Additionally, the fall season will see Professor Davis being recognized during a UNC men’s basketball game at the Dean E. Smith Center.
